About The Author
Kody Bateman is the founder of SendOutCards. He was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah, where he lives with his wife Jodi and family. He first became a student of personal development at age sixteen when he read Dale Carnegie’s book, How to Win Friends and Influence People. Since that time, he has always wanted to be an influence for good in people’s lives by helping them live positive and successful lives.
Kody received a bachelor’s degree in marketing and started his career working for an advertising agency in New York. He returned to Utah after taking an executive marketing position with a food service company. In 1991, Kody was first exposed to network marketing. He embraced this unique business concept and has loved it ever since. In 1994, he started a telecommunications company that delivered services to network marketing companies and their distributors. With this business, Kody had a unique opportunity to learn from top executives and distributors from numerous network marketing companies. He has been working in the network marketing industry for over 15 years now.
He has been a featured speaker at over 200 network marketing events in a six-year period and has conducted personal development seminars to audiences all over the United States, Canada, and Australia.
Kody is currently the founder and CEO of SendOutCards, a company that was featured in the 2009 Inc. 500 list as one of the fastest growing companies in the U.S. He is a visionary leader who is living his dream and travels the country teaching others to do the same.
Kody makes a point that the SendOutCards’ movement is not about him: It is about every person who becomes a sender of cards. The story is only beginning to be written, and the true power of SendOutCards and its message lies in the tens of thousands of people who push the “send” button every day.
Kody does not believe that there is a “self-made” anybody. He believes we are all as good as the people around us. SendOutCards has attracted the most gifted people in the world. Because of this, the company is able to help others soar to the greatest heights possible.
One of Kody’s stories tells about learning to rap on a street corner in Baltimore while serving a Christian mission for his church.
“When I rap, I am using my love of music and cherishing memories of people I love from the streets of Baltimore. Having fun with this rap music is a way for me to trigger the positive energy I had with those people, and it makes me feel good. It also celebrates the love of self and others,” Kody says. To this day he carries a love for music, and has written and produced several inspirational songs and music videos. Kody is also an outdoor enthusiast. He competes in motocross and is a self-proclaimed “steep and deep” snowmobile rider.
